A classic US one-sheet for the 1956 20th Century Fox romantic comedy Bus Stop starring Marilyn Monroe as saloon singer Cherie, kidnapped by a love-struck cowboy. Although Marilyn's performance was broadly praised, it was co-star Don Murray who received an Oscar nod for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
CONDITION Very good (B) Backed on linen. Prior to the backing, this poster had one vertical and three horizontal machine folds as issued, with wear, splits and discolouration to fold lines and darkening to edges. The backing has smoothed out the folds, while colour touching and spots of yellow airbrush have improved the appearance of the artwork across the two upper horizontal folds. The majority of the white ground to the upper portion of the poster has been lightly airbrushed to diminish any discolouration. The restoration has been expertly done and the poster looks fantastic.
